This prompt wants you to tell your story...and round out your application in such a way that you are more than your GPA/Test Scores. In this essay, you should be sharing how your background has shaped who you are today!
This is the essay to address your vulnerability. College wants you to discuss how you navigated through some of your toughest challenges as a young adult. Documenting how you transformed "lemons to lemonade" is the essence of this Essay. In the process of writing this essay, don't just tell the story but recount who you were before - and what you became after - this experience.
This essay will require you to identify what is most important to you in your life. Once this fact is established, you will need to write about how you want to convey these values to the readers. The heart of this question is about "thought leadership" - how you think and then...how would you put your thoughts to action? Also, this prompt could challenge you to consider a time when you were wrong about something...and how you figured out you were wrong and who helped you to get to that understanding?
Basically, the readers want you to all of the ways that you have shown or experienced kindness. How can you best describe how you have recognized, acknowledge, and give thanks for random acts of kindness. Perhaps you can reflect on your favorite acts of kindness and/or make a gratitude list to help unpack the prompt. Remember, make sure the essay is teaching the reader something about yourself - not just telling a story about kindness!
You should be sharing how an experience has affected your life...while revealing how a situation has impacted you and revealed new possibilities and perspectives.
This essay should be about the topic that most interests you. Your goal is to tell a story - set the scene, players, situation - with as much detail as possible that helps to capture your passion~
Colleges would love to hear you discuss all aspects of a student's academic success to the reader...including the emotional, physical, intellectual, etc., challenges/success incurred throughout the years. This prompt is left purposely vague and ambiguous so that the student can fill in any holes for the admissions committee.
